Leonardo S.p.A., founded in 1948 as Finmeccanica and rebranded in 2017, is Italy's largest aerospace and defense company headquartered in Rome. The company participates in space through joint ventures Thales Alenia Space (33%) and Telespazio (67%), and its own space division delivering COSMO-SkyMed SAR satellites, secure satellite communications, and space domain awareness systems.
